Money saving superstar Martin Lewis has urged Santander to 'ditch' their accounts and switch to something better if they can find it after the bank issued an email to customers.
The offer gave customers 5.2% on their savings with no strings attached and no limits on withdrawals.Unfortunately, Martin Lewis notified his ITV1 viewers on the latest episode of The Martin Lewis Money Show Live on ITV1 that the bank has emailed customers to inform them that the savings rate is now being cut.
"Your account has a variable interest rate which means it can go up and down. We're reducing the interest rate because of expected changes in the interest rates we receive. On The Martin Lewis Money Show Live, Martin told Santander customers: "Easy access savings are variable. Santander has decided to do it, so you simply take your money out and put it somewhere else that pays more.
