Love Island star Sammy Root opens up on Jess as star no longer 'chasing girls'

It’s been almost a year since Love Island star Sammy Root was crowned the winner of the ITV show with his then-girlfriend Jess Harding. Now, in an exclusive chat with OK!, he has revealed that the pair no longer speak, with the star now focusing on himself, rather than ‘chasing girls.’

He adds: “We haven’t really got anything to talk about to be honest. But if I did see her, I’d always say hello. I’m sure she’d say hello back. I wish her the best.Jess recently shared a loved-up photo on social media with a new man, appearing to confirm she's in a relationship. Sammy, who was spotted cosying up to Geordie Shore beauty Chloe Ferry during a Halloween night out, tells us he’s now choosing to remain single as he uses his newfound fame to raise money for charity, as well as launching new business ventures.

With no plans to return to his old job, telling us the 9-5 ‘wasn’t for him’ he talked us through a day in the life as an influencer. He says: “I mean, day to day is different. I get a lot of people asking and I might need to do a video on my day to day. “I’ve got a product that I’m hopefully releasing sometime in the middle of this year. I can’t say too much but it’s based around hair and beauty. And I’m also planning on starting an event with a friend of mine. So our first event should be sort of end of June, which I'm very excited for.Since going on the show, Sammy has also grown close to islanders from other seasons, as he tells us there is a real sense of community between those who have gone on the show.
