Once Upon a Time in Hollywood review – uneven ode to a lost eraThe director’s love letter to 1960s Hollywood disturbs and dazzles in equal measure 1. Poor review which seems to have missed the point of the film: which elegantly and with Shakespearean attention to detail shows how the American public has blurred reality and Hollywood's presentation of it to the point they can no longer tell the difference. I thought the dialog was pretty weak considering the screen time devoted to it. I've never seen a more discussed movie with such poorly veiled bad reviews. It can't be good. It's like they're saying ANYthing about it other than it's a great movie. No one wants to roast it but I hear no real praise either. Tarantino is clearly quite connected.
