Leeds woman says teenage sweetheart 'wished death on her' as he gouged her eyes

A Leeds hospital worker was subject to a horrific New Year's attack from her partner earlier this year. Faye Matthews suffered a broken eye socket, and severe bruising and spent New Year's Day in hospital.

The couple first met when they were teenagers working at Morrisons supermarket. Five years ago, they were both single, and started talking on social media. They both celebrated Christmas in 2021 along with their anniversary, however, by the end of 2021, Ben had become increasingly stressed.
