Lady Antebellum sue black singer Lady A over name change

The US country group Lady A – known until recently as Lady Antebellum, before changing their name to shed slavery-era connotations – is suing the black female artist Lady A over use of the name.

White Antebellum are nasty

Well they will obviously fail since she used the name first 🙄.... This also goes to prove that their name-change was nothing more than a publicity stunt ... I think music artists should have more integrity and don't change their name in the first place...

Uff! I kinda agree with Anita White aka Lady A “It shouldn’t have taken George Floyd to die for them (Lady Antebellum) to realize that their name had a slave reference to it.” 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's like the Kellogg cereal case. Dr. Kellogg sued his kid brother for ownership of the name claiming his distinguished career. By the court saw that the younger Kellogg made the name synonymous with cereal and granted him ownership. Lady Antebellum needs to go find a new name.
