A concern for safety has been issued tonight by the PSNI following the discovery of a kayak and clothing on the banks of a river.
The recreational canoe, socks and shoes were located at Shaws Bridge in South Belfast on Wednesday night June 19. The items were found near a boat club in the area. Police teams and the Community Rescue Service are currently at the scene. A brief statement from the PSNI said: "Police are at the scene of a concern for safety near a boat club at Shaws Bridge in south Belfast this evening, Wednesday 19th June.
"A kayak, shoes and socks have been located and a search is underway to establish if a person has entered the water. Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact Police.
