After nearly a lifetime of estrangement from her biological father, Kate Hudson is opening up about where her relationship now stands with Bill Hudson.
The Los Angeles native was just 18-months old when her mother, Oscar-winning actress Goldie Hawn, split from her father in 1980, leading to their divorce. Over the years both Kate and Oliver have openly shared how they were estranged from their father for significant periods of time, including their more formative years as kids and as adults.
'I had five birth children but I now consider myself a father of three. I no longer recognize Oliver and Kate as my own. I would ask them to stop using the Hudson name,' the musician, who's best known for his 1970s group The Hudson Brothers, said at the time. It appears he lumped Kate into the conversation due to her Instagram post on that same Father's Day in 2015 showing her with stepfather Kurt.
