Three teenagers were found not guilty of Harper’s ‘barbaric’ murder yesterday, but were convicted of the lesser charge of manslaughter.

Andrew Harper, 28, died after he was dragged for over a mile behind a car to his death last August Andrew Harper case had to have special protection measures in place after police received intelligence that associates of the defendants were planning to intimidate them, it can now be reported., but were convicted of the lesser charge of manslaughter.

The trial had to be brought to a halt in March after an unidentified person in the public gallery overlooking the courtroom was seen pointing at jurors. But Mr Justice Edis ordered extra security measures to protect the jury. Without divulging details, he said police had received information ‘that an attempt is being considered by associates of the defendants to intimidate the jury’.

On the day the nation went into lockdown, the original jury was discharged. When the case returned for retrial in June, social distancing in court was introduced to combat the risk of Covid-19 and security was further stepped up. The female juror was discharged just a day before the remaining 11 men and women began deliberating on their verdicts.Lord Blunkett told The Daily Telegraph: ‘It throws considerable doubt on whether the whole of the jury should have been stood down and a retrial required. The verdict also raises issues … in respect of the definition of murder because although it might not be premeditated, it was murder.

They knew what they were doing, it is in their nature.

Because it’s gypos the media will avoid the story, for anyone else the driver would be charged with ‘Causing death by Dangerous Driving’

How were they allowed to get away with manslaughter is beyond me.
