Driver, 19, found not guilty of murdering PC Andrew Harper

A driver who dragged a police officer for more than a mile to his death after trying to steal a quad bike has been cleared of murder.

Their defence claimed the incident was a ‘freak event’ that none of them could have planned or foreseen. Not guilty of murder but all convicted of 'manslaughter' for anyone confused. They didn't get away scott free, they just couldn't be convicted of knowing the PC was being dragged behind the car. When your driving at an excessive speed along a dark road. A mile isn't that long.
