Jose Cordoba Rangers medical 'set' as Levski Sofia star faces transfer rush

Jose Cordoba is set to undergo his Rangers medical on either Monday or Tuesday, according to a report.

Rangers looked to be facing a fight with Norwich City for the Panamanian defender, but those claims are wide of the mark and the Levski Sofia star will get the once over from club medics over the next 48 hours, according to Bulgarian outlet Top Sport. They insist that the deal will need to be wrapped up quickly before Cordoba jets out to join the Panama squad in Spain for their pre-Copa America training camp.

Bulgarian sources claim Levski are set to bank around £2million for the 22-year-old as Philippe Clement bolsters his backline options, Another £1.2m in add-ons could be heading their way depending on the player and club meeting certain criteria. Cordoba will become the third addition at Ibrox this summer after the arrival of Brazilian left back Jefte and Mohamed Diomande signing on a permanent basis.

Borna Barisic looks to be heading out the door alongside John Lundstram. The pair are seemingly bound for Turkey with Trabzonspor having been tracking the Light Blues duos for some time. Fellow midfielder Ryan Jack is out of contract while Kemar Roofe has already said his Ibrox goodbyes.
