Rangers transfer news bulletin as Jose Cordoba targeted by Eyupspor

Rangers welcomed Jefte to Ibrox on Friday evening as the Brazilian put pen to paper - but the Light Blues face late competition from ambitious Turkish side Eyupspor for the signing of Panama international defender Jose Cordoba.

Istanbul side Eyupspor have just won promotion to the Turkish Super League for the first time in their history after romping to the title in the second tier. And they want some big names for next season's assault on the top league. They are managed by Turkish legend Arda Turan, the former Atletico Madrid and Barcelona star who won 100 caps for his country. He guided Eyupspor to the title in his first season of his first job as a manager and the club are well backed financially.

They now face Go Ahead Eagles for a European spot today, which will be Lammers' last game for Utrecht this season. And the 27-year-old could move to AZ in the summer after reports in the Netherlands suggested they had targeted the former Atalanta ace to replace the top scorer in the Netherlands, Vangelis Pavlidis, who has been linked with a big money move to England. Now Lammers will sit down with Ibrox chiefs to discuss his future.
