A clearly annoyed Stephen Kerr could not hide his frustration with the Chancellor over the tax extension and the way he expressed it.

The Tory civil war on oil and gas has opened a new front after a senior MSP accused the Chancellor of being unwise and careless.

He also said he had "no idea" how may jobs would be lost and said the policy was a "thoroughly bad idea". Hunt caused further anguish when he said the “Scottish” oil and gas industry was one of the Budget "losers". He said of the extension: “It's disappointing that what we had wanted didn't happen but the budget as a whole needs to be seen in context and also the position of the Scottish Conservatives needs to be seen in context.
