Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour leader, has declined an invitation to attend a state dinner with Donald Trump when he visits the UK in June.
Oh yeah, THIS he takes a stand? He also refuses back a second referendum.
good choice jeremycorbyn
Great exemple. Congratulation to your behavior.
Wouldn't expect anything less from someone who's not a Statesman. If not the man, you have to respect the role he is in!
Is he otherwise engaged with anti-semites or terrorists?
That’s okay. The queen will be there and that is good enough.
👌
Question should not be 'why isn't Corbyn showing up' but 'Why are we giving a state welcome to this psycho Trump?'
I am not going either!
Grow up silly little man.
Glad he's declined it. That's one aspect of his leadership I can definitely agree. Shame he's still fence sitting on the most important issue though.
Rude idiot. Hurts himself more than trump. That's what is wrong with the left. They can't be adults.
Who would want that tosser at the dinner table. Bet the Queen can’t believe her good fortune.
Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t
I like Corbyn, but I don't care much for this kind of posturing. Trump is there, deal with his ass.
HYPOCRITE !!
So much for his ideology of changing things through meaningful discourse
But isn’t jeremycorbyn meeting up with the president in a private meeting?
Jeremy Corbyn declines invitation to attend state banquet for orange man
I reckon a good % of Labour voters would vote for Trump rather than Corbyn.
The queens white tie banquet is for senior politicians and dignitaries so that rules Corbyn out on both counts anyway
alas. Prince Andrew, second son of Queen Elizabeth II, reigning monarch of the United Kingdom, flew frequently on Epstein's private jet, dubbed the 'Lolita Express.' 1 fewer pasty-pale bad-breathed Brits is 1 fewer pasty-pale bad-breathed Brits. harvard Happy Math!😅 $f $t
In fairness I wouldn’t want to share a table with JC either. He looks like he suffers with beard food.
It was an invitation, not an order. He declined. His presence would have buoyed the legitimacy of Mr. Trump’s views and behaviour. His absence does not detract from his respect for the presidency of the USA, in my view.
No sane person would want to spend a moment in that egomaniac's company, regardless of their politics.
I don't think anyone's going to miss having this rat at the table
You've got to hand it to him, at least he's consistent in alienating one of the first nations to come to our aid if we needed help.
Send Steptoe no one will notice
Thankfully, we still have a few politicians left who aren’t for sale.
Maybe they had quarrels over a business deal some years back
What a bunch of muppets. The leader of the free world comes round for tea and these pillocks hide in their bedrooms 🤣
Classic far left virtue signalling.
Good. Sensible decision.
maga
Shame he’s dumb enough to go along with policies that help Trump & his puppetmaster. Like Brexit.
Good for him.
Nobody wants to be around him that doesn't have to be....so sad!
Good.
Along with the speaker of the house and vince Cable
Correct decision!

Lyra McKee: Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn attend funeral in Belfast - follow liveTheresa May and Jeremy Corbyn have travelled to Belfast to attend the funeral of murdered journalist Lyra McKee, as the pair missed today's Prime Minister's Questions (PMQs). Hopefully the SoSNI will realise what happens in N Ireland when people don’t bother to do their jobs. Here is not like anywhere else, inaction costs lives. Peace here is very fragile. Curious and not objecting but does this mean we will see high level attendance at future IRA victim's funerals? Always nice to use a death to boost PR...
