Denver has just decriminalised magic mushrooms – British politicians need to be equally brave

Well done, Denver: voting to decriminalise magic mushrooms is an act of common sense . It doesn’t mean the local Walmart is going to start flogging shrooms on two-for-one offers: it just means that the police must “deprioritise, to the greatest extent possible” any criminal penalties for Denver residents possessing or using the hippie drug of choice. It could be a life-changing move for some – growing research suggests it can help treat mental distress, such as depression and anxiety.

What do the local elections tell Labour? There are no easy Brexit solutions | Owen JonesWhile Brexit dominates, the party is at risk, says Guardian columnist Owen Jones There is nothing more evil than the false words and hate-filled thoughts of pipsqueak. Does he not know that the far Left killed 100m in the 20th century alone? The Messiah photo is amazing. I assume he is on a Mount, blessing the cheese makers. Is he really looking to the heavens for divine inspiration here?!

A few in my area were ousted because there were Independent Candidates who were very active in the Community and decided to stand for election. Those ousted did nothing of note - complacent. It’s called democracy .... people vote and sometimes despite how annoying it is Parliament and politicians have to respect the result. I know that’s difficult in the current climate where it’s become trendy to ignore and block democracy but.... there it is.

Local elections: What bruising results mean for Labour and the ConservativesSupport for the main parties - led by Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn - was clearly down in these elections. Labour have lost a small amount of seats. Around 60 but roughly held steady. Conservatives have lost over a 1000. Not the same thing. Conservatives lost over 1300 councillors, they should learn the consequences of their austerity, the Tories kept Northamptonshire due to the council not being able to afford election, Labour loss less than 100 councillors the problem was trying to appease both sides Tories lost nearly 1300 seats more than labour but you have made it out that they were bad as each other
