Intermittent fasting two days versus one day per week, matched for total energy intake and expenditure, increases weight loss in overweight/obese men and women - Nutrition Journal

Despite the demonstrated benefits of both traditional IF and nutrient-dense IF-P regimens, there is little research comparing the effects of extended IF1-P versus an IF2-P meal pattern, matched for total weekly kcals, macronutrient distribution, and physical activity energy expenditure, on body weight and composition, hormones, and hunger ratings in overweight and obese men and women during short-term WL.

All experimental procedures were performed in adherence with related New York State regulations and the Federal Wide Assurance, consistent with the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research, and in agreement with the Helsinki Declaration . This trial was registered at clinicaltrials.gov as NCT04327141.
