News Daily: EU asks for Brexit ideas, and Grenfell inquiry 'frustration'

What's next? The EU has urged the UK government to come up withas the two sides try to break the Brexit impasse. Brussels officials said they would work non-stop over the weekend if they received"acceptable" proposals by Friday on what to do about the Irish backstop.

Theresa May is seeking legally enforceable alternatives to the backstop - an insurance policy designed to prevent physical checks on the Irish border. She hopes that such changes will allow her to get her EU withdrawal agreement - reached last year with other EU countries, but rejected by MPs in January - through Parliament.

So what should we make of the latest move from the EU? BBC Brussels correspondent Adam Fleming said it was only a"notional timetable" and more flexibility could be possible. Meanwhile, Labour leader'Frustration' over Grenfell charges delaywith Scotland Yard saying it would be"wrong" to do so until the public inquiry into the disaster finishes. The survivors' group Grenfell United called the news"extremely frustrating and disheartening".

Another negative hit job from the BBC.

Ideas for Brexit? Anyone?

Democracy/Hypocrisy. When you've got that certain amount of wealth. Certain position in life. Who cares what happens to the lower classes. Long as it isn't happening to you. Who cares! Right Theresa May British Prime minister? Not like you or anyone before or after you cares.

You can understand their frustrations. 'Oh no Theresa not another blank sheet of paper are there no ideas your party can agree on.' 'Yes that's what the paper is.'

One day I’ll look at my timeline in the morning and won’t see hundreds of pictures of TM and headlines talking about failure and incompetency.

The true western method to letting the truth out about a tragedy: 1) Let puplic anger die down. 2) Release a report whist some other big news story. 3) Sweep it under the carpet while everyone is distracted.
