Motherhood has a rather unique ability to make you worry about the future Life insurance ads are often targeted at new mums. It makes sense – since having my daughter six months ago, I’ve learned that motherhood has a rather unique ability to make you worry about the future. So after half a year of seeing the adverts popping up everywhere, I finally found a spare hour to set it up. The ads made it all look so quick and easy, but what I found shocked me.
I have the right to a policy I can afford and access – to protect my daughter I haven’t been able to get a single quote covering my conditions, as they all require detailed medical evidence I cannot provide for free. At one company, a supervisor at the call centre said that to be sure if they can insure me or not I’d have to get a doctor’s report sent across to them. They could not even give me an estimate without this report.
