A councillor who appeared before a court after being caught drink driving says he won't resign. Matt Bryan, an independent Cheshire West and Chester councillor, was hauled before magistrates this week after pleading guilty to drink driving.
But in response Coun Bryan said it was “rich of the Tories to ask me to resign when you look at the state of their party”. "Upton residents deserve better from their elected representatives – the individuals that local people put their trust in to represent them and improve their lives. They don’t deserve to have a local councillor who does the opposite.
