Essential workers reported stress caused by increased workloads, understaffing, fears over Covid and struggles in enforcing social distancing

Terri Prunty Kay has worked as a cashier at Walmart in Sonoma county, California since 2011. She had never cried at work because of treatment from customers before the pandemic.

All workers are essential if you want a functioning economy. And there are plenty who don't have a job crying. These people have jobs. Essential jobs. But their salaries are paid by taxes raised from people in 'non-essential' jobs. So stop crying about crying. msainat1

My Student daughter worked in morrisons during lockdown, she was ill with worry every shift. Employer not taking it seriously and customers not following distance rules. We should know how many in retail have contracted covid.

Yep, it amuses me when I keep reading that health workers are on the frontline when in fact it is workers in supermarkets, gas stations, transport, drug stores and take out food, who are really on the frontline.

Yet some of them will vote Republican.

If a woman gives your reporters an interview at least call her an essential worker and not a job proofread theguardian guardian
