Households in the UK pay more for a standard plan than countries including Canada and Australia

rising by £1 to £7.99 last October, the premium option increasing by £2 to £17.99, while the standard plan remained £10.99.

UK customers are charged up to three times the price paid by households in Turkey and Argentina – but pay less than many European neighbours, including Spain, Germany and France.TV audiences in Britain pay less for their Netflix subscriptions than citizens of many low-income countries.The Swiss pay the most for their Netflix standard subscription, at £17.01 a month. This should be no surprise as Switzerland is consistently ranked as one of the world’s richest countries.

Viewers in the US pay £12.28, while close neighbours in Canada pay £9.60 per month. Australians pay just £8.86, despite a healthy economy.However, due to censorship, Pakistanis have a significantly smaller selection of titles on offer than in many other countries. Some banks in the Islamic republic also restrict online payments for streaming services such as Netflix.
