PM is asked again why other Downing St events won't be investigated Boris Johnson says Cabinet Secretary Simon Case, who will conduct the inquiry into the Christmas party, “may wish to look at other things”

Omicron accounts for a small percentage of cases in the UK. So why the rush to bring in Plan B?After four weeks, you might only be seeing 50,000 cases a day.

But the next three days, one more doubling, would take it to 100,000. And the three days after that would double it again.Even if all those infections were mild, that’s a lot of people isolating and absent from work or school. Add the potential for sickness to that, even at low rates, and the picture gets worse.

Omicron’s spread, once it’s established in the UK, could be slower or faster than these early estimates. It’s still too early to know. But this is a reminder of why there’s so much urgent work going on right now to understand Omicron and so much caution.

Must be one sick joke.. they get to have a 'gathering' then a few days later announce a lock down for Tier 3. Totally playing us like puppets my family missed my baby's 1st Christmas that's just 1 example what about others .. unaccaeptable!!

Most of the country was and most of u where

They’ve been sat on.

Meanwhile you are reporting nothing about the Nationality and Borders Bill which is a very serious matter nor the latest Healthcare Bill. Get on with it BBC or are you complicit too?

So the public get prosecuted but the Tories get a reprimand x

There’s a surprise 🤬🤬

Does the penny finally drop?

Common sense.

The question Stratton was asked to discuss wasn’t about a specific party but about hearsay reports that had come from social media about an alleged party. Clearly she was being challenged to answer when she hadn’t been briefed or able to research the hypothetical allegations.

😶

The Russian owned company that built the Downing Street press conference room probably have a permanent live feed capturing everything off site. How else could such a sensitive video get out to the public and the police then deciding not to investigate.

No need to investigate when they turned a blind eye and know 100% it happened. If they were to investigate they know they would come out of it smelling of shithouses.

Pity the poor buggars that got fined

The police will have records of who visited Downing Street. If it’s not investigated it’s a clear sign of corruption. Britain is now a police state, the tories have destroyed any pretence of a democracy.Dictatorships inevitably end in bloodshed.Hopefully sooner rather than later

Blow for the BIASED BROADCASTING CORPORATION

Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey. Line of Duty looks more like reality TV than a fictitious crime drama with this corrupt Government and police force.

Based on the number of people making complaints, why aren’t the police seeking to find the evidence? It will be there! This smacks of looking the other way.

An unscrupulous and corrupt Government aided by a complacent media and unfit police force. Welcome to Brexit Britain 🇬🇧

They're going to be very busy chasing people who ignore the new suggestions the PM made this evening!

As bent as the Government. I should be surprised but sadly I'm not.

'We don't read the papers, and if there IS evidence of crime, we are NOT fucking going to investigate to analyse it'. Britain's 'detectives' are in fact camouflage artists. Cressida is a spray can.

ofcourse!! CressidaDick is in charge!!

Trash their reputation further metpoliceuk IOPC_Help

Good, they should never have been asked. Far more serious crime to investigate

Why not?

Didn't see that coming 🙄

Whitewash 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

The reason why no investigation will take place it's becuase the Prime Minister has the final say. Thats why no one takes any of these restrictions seriously anymore...pathetic! Not a good booster to for the Booster campaign!

BBCPolitics Meanwhile, Worzel Gummage stands between the scientists pretending he understands what they are talking about.

The tragedy is our exhausted, overstretched and brilliant NHS are caught in the crossfire of the public vs the clown in charge. People are rightly berating the total hypocrisy of Johnson, but if you choose to ignore plan b restrictions you hurt the good guys more than him

What next for Boris Johnson after the No 10 party video?Footage of No 10 staff joking about a lockdown party has left even the PM's supporters stunned. I think the words you are searching for are: 'Johnson has lost all authority and trust I fail to see how he can continue. To restore trust in politics there must surely be an independent inquiry into standards in office and possibly a criminal investigation arising.' Nothing, absolutely nothing as the oleaginous oaf doesn't care what people think and doesn't think he should be held to account for anything ever. I think he’s done. He’s just so toxic. It’s hard to look at him now.
