Can't wait for Christmas .. 'Cry Havoc and let loose the logs of Yule!'

To swipe, or not to swipe, that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the aisles to suffer the tins and packets that cost an outrageous fortune or to take a massive bread trolley against a sea of troublesome customers and, by opposing, run a couple of them over.

Is that beneath them?

My heart bleeds for them, honestly.

Food glorious Foooood, Hot sausage and Mustard.

And this stinks of snobbery.

'people have a job'. Shocking development. Next week 'water is wet'

About time they got proper jobs.

And? Is it somehow “beneath” them?

Good, fuck ‘em!

Patrick Stewart is driving a Uber in Leeds.

They are probably working in all arias.

What real jobs who would have thought that was possible for the luvvies.

And? 2 of my daughters work for supermarkets as does my partner

'Clean-up on aisle 5!' 'But what's my MOTIVATION, dahling?'

Some good news at last.

So, if you need money you get a job. That’s how it works. A former Flybe pilot I know delivers parcels for Amazon now. He has bills to pay.

'I shouldn't be working in Tesco, I'm an ACT-TOR you know, I've performed on Broadway and the London stage.' 'Oi,Laurence Olivier, you going to put that milk out or not ?'

Oh no!

Awww, poor luvvies. We’re there no toilet cleaning jobs available?

Who wants to see this woke bollox anyway?

An old school friend of mine has survived the last 40 years as ‘an ‘actor’ doing bits on radio, a few Rep appearances, four pantos and a walk on in Holby City. Her real job is waitress. She still behaves like she is Dame Flora Robson. 😉

How many members of Equity were actually employed in the sector before Covid? I thought the commonly held belief was that 90% of actors were out of work at any one time anyway?

Not...The real world! 😱😱

I’ve got friends from many industries who are very qualified and experienced, they to have had to seek alternative employment also... some of them in supermarkets. Actors are no more important than those professions. Grow the fuck up

I sense a new musical coming on... accompanied by the world’s smallest violins.

I know a few pilots who have been axed now working as delivery drivers just to do something and keep busy. Why should people in the arts be different?

Noooooo, how utterly abhorent!

Luvvies suffer so much more than real people, darling.

My son graduated with a first in physics this summer. He's working in a DHL warehouse. Suck it up, and count your blessings you have a job, luvvies.

people who found other work when their current work dried up shocker ...

If they feel this is beneath them - couldn’t they ‘act’ willingness and humility ?🙄🙄

This is nothing new. Actors have always had to take other jobs while 'resting'.

I've done a lot of jobs over the years to feed my family... Proud of most if them.

Welcome to the real world!

Waitrose will never have had so many staff

🤷‍♂️

Think of it as study for when and if they ever work Les Miserables. The poor things. How they suffer. So precious, and working in the gulags.

That's nothing. There's a bloke who used to host a panel show running the country now.

Well they can't all start far right political parties.

Lucky them, having a job.

Good for them! I applaud their willingness to 'get on their bike'

Amazing reflection on where their value to society lies

Good, at least they have a job

She'll be fine in Sainsburys, she gets her own safe place

They could cheer themselves up by simply pretending they are playing the role of Alex, a humble Asda shelf stacker who is dreaming of his big break in showbiz.

I’m glad they found employment

Snooty, overblown narcissists griping at having to work for a living instead of poncing about spouting out dialogue someone else wrote. Watch the furniture. Oh, the indignity. (back of hand to forehead)

Is this news? I thought it was pretty normal for actors out of work. Do you think working in a supermarket is degrading or something?

Don’t most actors have side jobs?

There is a god.

Thought most actors had other jobs tbh. No shame in that

Airline pilots are working for DPD & Hermes, cabin crew are helping in soup kitchens, Decorators are delivering for Just Eat. Pity the poor West End loves having to make a living like the rest of us. Precious.

Must be some mistake. All rich Hollywood actors are socialists and will definately be sharing their large salaries with the stage folk at the bottom. 💅

So, what? And what is wrong with working in a supermarket?

You fucking idiots. He's saying people in the arts are ALREADY doing other jobs, because we have to

And?

I think a few are working in hospitals too.

Conversely, many supermarket workers could never have afforded to go to see Hamilton. Mixed blessings.

If only there were any in the entertainment industry who were multi millionaires and could sub them through this crisis but obviously not.

Lol. About time they got a real job.

So are a lot of other people. Are West end actors too good to work a normal job?

So what? Thousands of people do

Good on them. A job is a job.

What's wrong with earning your money where you can? I was unemployed for a few months after leaving the army and took a minimum wage job to survive on as any normal person would do. The self-entitlement of some people is beyond belief.

Good. They can now offer something that benefits the general public and gives meaning to their existence.

And? The majority of actors find other work when they’re unemployed, always have.

They’ve had to get proper jobs

Good. Why shouldn't they?

And? Do they think they are above working in a supermarket?

Whats wrong with that

I saw one working as a waitress in a cocktail bar.

Good. It's important for them to do something useful in society.
