Who told Lord Hain, that’s who people should be directing their disgust at, they are the one’s in breach of the court order.

Good Respect We Need politicians to have the courage to stand up to ppl like Green

Good. Wish we had more like him in the Lords.

Hey PhilipGreen , let the women you paid off speak out .. that’ll clear your name, You greasy, tax avoiding twat!

The same Phillip Green that shafted the BHS staff? Karma sure is a bitch isn’t it Mr Green!

Peter Hain a gutless man hiding behind Parliament notice he says he stands by his comments but won't make them again outside, and if Phillip Green is as innocent as he claims then he should sue him waiting which way the cards will fall

It is dangerous for the citizens of this country if an individual politician, hiding behind Parliamentary Privilege, can interfere in the due process of law. That could lead to all kinds of miscarriages of justice.

A total abuse off PP and a total disregard to the courts and our world class legal system... I hope PG buries him

Hope he is right if not Hain must leave the Lords

he has named PG. He is allowed to do so, end of. PG is just trying to 'spin' it.

would he have done the same if it had been a friend of his ?

I’m surprised there are so many people backing Peter Hain. It was a stretch to begin with, but now seriously questionable.

Whoever told Hain the name is guilty of contempt of court.

I think Lord Hain is an idiot for doing this. Alright so Philip Green is used an NDA. Big feckin deal. He could have done that for reputation reasons - doesn’t mean he’s guilty. Police should be dealing with this not Lord Hain and his hoity toity privedge. Idiot!!

Good on him

Why should he be.... if Green had done nothing wrong why try to gag the press. LooksLikeGuiltToMe

Not a defence of Green but of our courts. Hain has put himself above a judge who has seen and considered evidence. Saying he is protecting people against wealth and influence is just conceited.

I didn't hear Lord Hains coming out speech about the child grooming gangs when they had a media black out.

I really hope that Green is found innocent then sues Peter HAin for every penny he has, simply to stop these idiots who feel that they are above the law and who feel that they can say what they want.

hain is an out and out Marxist antagonist, he revels in his own mire!

People are missing an important point here. Phillip Green has tried to use his power, influence and money to ensure that the allegations against him were never heard. Hain, as much as I dislike him, has levelled the playing field. Do people really want to defend Phillip Green?

Hain is such a bloody hypocrite. If it's in the public interest why use Parliamentary privilege, why not just give an interview to BBC? He breached an injunction - happy to break the law when it suits him?

Good to see the grandstanding principle is alive and well in total disregard of a decision reached in the C of Appeal.

The establishment is shitting itself over this

This is the un-acceptable face of Britain’s ‘establishment system’......crooked politicians & crooked businessmen, nice work if you can get !

This guy stood against apartheid who is this Sir?

I think that Lord Hain is a Coward and a Fraud using the House Of Lords so he cannot be prosecuted and ignoring Judges Law, an appalling hypocrite is Lord Hain.

Good on him. Exposing Green for the true scumbag he is!

This is hilariously funny and totally self indulgent. It stinks of dishonesty and only serves to show that only when it pleases the rules can be bent! Well, as long as you are a Lord of the house! Anyone else would be facing legal action right now!!! DoubleStandard

time to remove this privilege from the house of lords and house of commons, everyone should be equal with no one above the law.

And not should he be. People have a right to know what a slime bag Green, a Knight of the Realm no less, is. He should be stripped of it immediately.

So the so called elite in the house of lords are above the law 😡.

Sir Philip Green’s identity ‘not disclosed lightly’ says HainPeer denies links to ‘Daily Telegraph’ law firm influenced his decision to use parliamentary privilege As a member of the public it is in my interest to know that Philip Green, who through his own actions has shown himself to be a terrible person, is somehow even worse than we thought. He shouldn’t have been allowed to cover this up. I’m interested in how that was allowed. Hain hiding behind privilege. Why does he think he has precedence over the courts ? He doesn’t and this is just abuse of due process. Not disclosed 'lightly' but prematurely. Parliamentarians should not usurp the power of the courts. The injunction was temporary; the proceedings not concluded. Hain either acted rashly or to get himself in the headlines again.

ConflictofInterest? Philip Green is an odious individual. His actions in the BHS scandal should have seen him stripped of his knighthood and a substantial part of his fortune. He is, however, entitled to the same protections our legal system offers us all. Trial by media may suit the Telegraph and the baying press pack but the law of the land must hold primacy in any event. Peter Hain, a known self publicist, has abused parliamentary privilege and should be held to account by his party.
