Here, we describe evidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection in early gestation foetal brain in association with cortical haemorrhages.Human foetal tissues were obtained from the Human Development Biology Resource , provided by the Joint MRC/Wellcome Trust . The HDBR provided fresh tissue from foetuses aged 9–21 post-conception weeks . Of the 661 samples collected during the 21 month period, the majority were from elective terminations , 62 of the samples were recorded to have a chromosomal trisomy .
The Life technologies secondary antibodies, used at 1:1000, were donkey-anti-goat Alexa fluor 488 , anti-mouse Alexa fluor 568 and 555 , anti-rabbit Alexa fluor 647 and 488 , and goat anti-rat 555 and anti-mouse 594 . Sections were all stained with DAPI and mounted in Mowiol .
