.Alex_Bowman's crew chief Greg Ives on the discourse surrounding the Next Gen car right now: 🗣️ 'We gotta come together. We can’t continue to think that it’s one individual’s fault or one sanctioning body’s fault or one race team’s fault.' NASCAR

And if there is blame to cast, Ives made clear this week he would shoulder some of the responsibility.this week became the second Cup Series driver sidelined with concussion-like symptoms this season following a wreck in last weekend’s race at Texas Motor Speedway.had in qualifying in July at Pocono, involved a rear-impact, an area of the new car which has been criticized as being too rigid.

“Alex is very responsible especially with Dale as a mentor. Ultimately, it was his decision to get evaluated – go through those steps and get everything checked out,” Ives said. He cited details such as tire air pressure, camber, decisions to stay out on older tires rather than pit for newer ones as examples.

Alex_Bowman NASCAR owns & operates IMSA where they run mfr. built GT3 cars, and you don't see Texas size problems with that kinds sorta race on Sunday sell on Monday equipment. I mean, does the NextGen really have to be tweaked that much ... for oval pack racing? NASCAR | NextGen

Alex_Bowman Yes, we can’t possibly imagine or think it’s in any way NASCAR’s fault.

Alex_Bowman NASCAR should not be involved in designing race cars. You draw up some rules and then you let the teams build cars as they see fit according to the rules. F-1 does not provide parts and pieces for the teams that race in their series.

jim_utter Alex_Bowman No but the two drivers on their way out and their mushy brain fans say otherwise!!
