One part of Greater Manchester has seen rent prices soar more than anywhere else in the north of England. Rents have increased by almost 9 percent across the UK in the last year, and have reached their highest levels on record.
But in one part of our region, rent costs have gone up much more than the UK average. Rents have risen more in Oldham than anywhere else in Greater Manchester over the last year.According to the most recent figures, it now costs an average of £766 a month to rent a home in Oldham - which has gone up by 13.4 percent since last year. That’s the highest percentage rise in the north of England, and is nearly six-times the current rate of inflation.
