GMB's Kate Garraway says she's 'overwhelmed trying to keep head above water'

GMB host Kate Garraway has shared a moving Instagram post with her followers about how she is coping as she marks her first birthday since the death of her husband Derek Draper in January. The TV presenter posted a photo on her social media in which she is posing with a wheelbarrow in her living room – a gift from her parents to mark her 57th birthday on 4 May.

“So they surprised me with this wheelbarrow saying that even though our garden isn’t big “it helps when lugging & carrying.” Not everyone’s first choice for a prezzie but I couldn’t be happier!! Love you so much mum and dad – you always know the best way to get me out there and going forward. I can’t wait to get my hands dirty this weekend & get going. Have a fab one everyone!!!”

One of her fans wrote: “Kate, I’m with you girl! I got a pink wheelbarrow for my birthday last year… the excitement was real!” while another commented: “Don’t forget Kate that you could probably have a cracking little nap in that wheelbarrow if you get worn out with the gardening! It’ll feel more even special enjoying your garden with that thoughtful gift, enjoy. Happy birthday!”
