Police sealed off the area as the 29-year-old was taken hospital following the attack around 8pm on Shettleston Road.
The area remained out of bounds for several hours before officers eventually lifted the cordon, the Daily Record reports.Police investigating the incident say their enquiries are ongoing, but confirmed an arrest has been made. A spokesman said: "Police were called to a report of a 29-year-old man seriously assaulted on Shettleston Road. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
