Footballer-turned-pundit Gary Lineker's son has said that his father 'won't ever back down' over his comments as BBC bosses are said to be begging him to return to Match of the Day

The BBC has recently descended into chaos after Gary Lineker was forced to step back from hosting Match of the Day following a row over impartiality.

BBC bosses are now said to have begged Gary to return to the broadcaster, however he has said that he will not be backing down over his comments. Saturday’s Match Of The Day aired for only 20 minutes and did not include accompanying commentary or analysis from pundits or even its famous theme tune – instead broadcasting only short highlight clips of the day’s matches.

A number of TV stars have shared their support of Gary on social media using the hashtags #StandWithGary, #IStandWithGaryLineker OR #IStandWithGary.
