This 7-year-old’s answer to the climate crisis just won a pretty big awardDream Big, Princess invention competitionThe competition asked young people from across the country to share ideas that could help change the world, and The Magic Magnet Plastic Catcher submitted by Hanna came out on top. The invention proposed would catch plastic and stop it from floating around in the oceans.
As a prize for winning the competition, Hanna has received a piece of one-of-a-kind artwork of herself and her invention, brought to life by the legendary Walt Disney Animation Studios animator Mark Henn, who animated Disney princesses Ariel, Jasmine, Tiana, Mulan and Belle.
But thanks to the assistance of her service dog, a Great Dane called George, the 13-year-old has been able to walk, swim and ride a bike – defying the predictions of her medical team.
