The government's fracking tsar has quit the post after just six months, claiming policy around the controversial process has meant her role has become"an impossible task".
Natascha Engel said a traffic light system which halts fracking when a tremor with a magnitude of 0.5 is recorded"amounts to a de facto ban" and accused environmental activists of being"highly successful" in encouraging the government to curb fracking despite its"enormous potential".
She had no scientific or energy sector background so she wasn’t suitable for the job in the first place
Water is far more important than low grade methane fracked gas. Once the water is fracked it becomes radioactive waste water and can never be used again and disposed of. Earthquakes caused by fracking is hardly too cautious
