And that connection could be furthered with Brown joining training on Tuesday having been impressed by the style of play at the lower league club.
The development comes days after Brown suggested he was ready to try and land his next job in management. However, it's reported Brown is clear his next management move is his priority - with major links to the vacant St Johnstone post. While Brown has enjoyed the time spent with his family, he admitted he was getting"itchy feet" over a return to football.
And while conducting the Scottish Cup draw, Brown opened up on his aspirations to return to the dugout in a new position. "I'm getting itchy feet now," said Brown over getting back into management. "It's been good to have some family time and see the kids growing up - I've been away the past couple of years.Reflecting on his stint at Fleetwood, Brown added: "It was great to be down and get a great understanding for myself and Steven to go down to England.
"We enjoyed it - we had some great times last season, not so many this season but we all bounce back."Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
