Eurovision fans heading to Sweden this weekend have been given fresh travel advice from the Foreign Office.

The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Malmö from May 4 to 11 and thousands are expected to flock to Sweden's third-largest city during this time. The Foreign Office has updated its guidance on travelling to the country ahead of the major event.READ MORE: I flew to Italy for pizza and cocktails and it cost less than a trip to London"During the time of the contest, there will be a greater number of people in Malmo.

"Tickets will be sent to you as a PDF file. Make sure your phone is charged and take into account roaming charges in Sweden."Entry into venues, including Eurovision Park and the Malmö Arena will include a ban on taking bags into the event and additional security checks. "Where more than one protest happens at the same time, on opposing issues, clashes can occur. Protests can block access routes.
