Shocking pictures from the scene show clouds of orange and black smoke pouring from the building, which looks to be at least 15 storeys high.Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters were called out to the scene in Rymill street, north Woolwich.

London Fire Brigade said: "Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters have been called to a fire at a flat on Rymill Street in North Woolwich."The Brigade's 999 Control Officers have taken more than 20 calls to the blaze, with the first at 2232. Fire crews from Plaistow, Barking, East Ham, Poplar and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.
