Experts offer other options as UK government seeks to reduce numbers crossing in boats

The government insists the way to reduce the number of people crossing the Channel in small boats is to prevent the vessels from leaving France in the first place or by intercepting the boats and returning those attempting to make a crossing.

Stop accepting unaccompanied children! They are the machete wielding Oxford st murderers of tomorrow. The UK (England) isn't even equipped to deal with its mental health crisis Vs taking in a war baby who got raped across Europe and will murder is for not making him a footballer.

Rather than ‘blame the French ‘ it’s our govt who run UK so rather than complain about other countries or lawyers , how about using that huge majority to make the law work properly if it’s so flawed . This will sadly involve work and not a press release saying your ‘ focused ‘

Outside of Twitter I’m not feeling a huge wave of interest in open borders . In fact it seems fairly clear UK public are not keen to be pushed into accepting everyone from everywhere because some vocal supporters and media say so .

They don't come for asylum. German figure : 2% of all refugees have proper asylum claims.

All asylum methods are legal.

Finally, a use for our splendid new aircraft-less carriers!

just doesn't get the UK public, nor do they understand the threats to the UK that they are promoting. This do-gooder mentality is ludicrous and most writers and stakeholders will never experience the issues that mass migration brings Leftist deluded migrantcrisis

Safe and legal alternatives to avoid people fleeing France ?

None of these will reduce the channel crossings because the overwhelming majority are economic migrants. If they land without detection they disappear into the black economy. If they are caught they play the asylum card.

I think it’s neat when countries work to figure SOMETHING out. Someone willing to make THAT trip? You gotta be seriously SO freaked you’d do stuff you’d not o/w do. I’m grateful for a country’s compassion.

Err wasn't the below discredited when it transpired that a very large number of so called children turned out to be 30 year old blokes and its 4 not 5 as serials two and four are the same.

Board an aeroplane in their country of origin.... Probably the least risky option of all, yet one no-one took. Why is that we ask....?

Put them into concentration camps with no comforts and little food. Giving them everything won’t stop them coming, will it?

I have a sixth: the royal navy transports them across the channel.

Use of navy ships to stop migrants 'dangerous'“We need to stop them, working with the French, getting across the Channel” PM Boris Johnson reacts to rise in Channel migrants crossings – saying UK will also look at legal framework that makes it “very, very difficult to send them away again” Glad I’m not a tax payer Lol. I’d much rather have those innocent people here than the racist pricks. 45,000 Britons are dead because of Boris' failures but let's talk about a couple of refugees

Use of navy ships to stop migrants 'dangerous'Use of navy ships to stop boats crossing Channel 'dangerous' and 'won't change anything', says Calais politician These people are not 'migrants' - they are asylum seekers. Please use the correct terminology, rather than insidious racist Tory propaganda. RefugeesWelcome NobodyIsIllegal Simples. Make a floating wall out of Navy ships around the channel. These huge numbers of ‘migrants’ have ruined the town of Calais (I’ve seen them first hand), their attitudes and ways are something that the people of this town want gone. Don’t expect help from the French especially the people of Calais.
