The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is currently in attendance at the former Gartsherrie School on Gartsherrie Road, in Coatbridge , after a fire broke out earlier tonight.

There were plans for the former Gartsherrie Primary building to be redeveloped into offices for the neighbouring haulage business after it was closed by North Lanarkshire Council back in 2010.
