The TV presenter Fiona Bruce has said a BBC boss once suggested she did not need a pay rise because she could rely on her boyfriend.
OMG this is so awful. Why oh why after all the years of so-called equal pay legislation this is even still an issue. What a joke. And no one's laughing.
I'm her boyfriend. Pay her more.
sloumarsh Funny how you didn't include the year that this conversation took place, exquisite integrity.
And what does that matter?
'Fiona Bruce tells British Vogue: xx years ago, a BBC boss queried need for for pay rise as I had a boyfriend.' In other stories, The Guardian cuts-pastes-and-tweets a newsbreaking exclusive from Punch magazine.
GovHowardDean What the hell
When I was worried about cuts and my job security, I was also told, 'you're ok, you have a man at home.'
Fiona it's time for you to ask why we joined the E.U. against the vote not to join under a party manifesto Also why we didn't leave with a vote to leave under a party manifesto ! yes the 1st referendum was remain but the 2nd referendum of 2016 was to leave AGAIN !!!!!
Oh please Fiona - give over. We all know you're one of the most generously paid people - men or women- at the Beeb. Are you trying to play the sympathy card? Won't wash, love.
Who cares
It happened many years ago. Next.

A dull and ancient anecdote.
Boyfriends are expensive

All the more reason to need a pay rise from my experience. scroungers
'Couldn't you ask you husband for some money to buy a jacket?' - from a senior woman(!) who thought I needed more than my perfectly respectable white shirt in a role with no dress code.
But not at all like 'referencing' Diane Abbott through her very old relationship with Jeremy Corbyn. No, nothing like that. Perish the saintly Fiona would even try.
I am male. When negotiating my salary at HR job interview, I was asked if I was married and if my spouse was working and we had kids. Bosses will do anything to keep the money from you. But more likely if you are female I agree.
Presumably he then questioned whether she’d only spend the extra money on make up and shoes?! 🙄
How much do the men at her level earn?
