Fiona Bruce: BBC boss queried need for pay rise as I had a boyfriend

The TV presenter Fiona Bruce has said a BBC boss once suggested she did not need a pay rise because she could rely on her boyfriend.

OMG this is so awful. Why oh why after all the years of so-called equal pay legislation this is even still an issue. What a joke. And no one's laughing.

I am male. When negotiating my salary at HR job interview, I was asked if I was married and if my spouse was working and we had kids. Bosses will do anything to keep the money from you. But more likely if you are female I agree.

Presumably he then questioned whether she’d only spend the extra money on make up and shoes?! 🙄
