According to the monitoring website Downdetector, Instagram users began reporting issues from around 7am this morning with a further influx of reports at around 1pm. Meanwhile, a spike of Facebook users began reporting issues from 1.30pm.
Between the two social media apps, both of which are owned by Meta, the majority of users are reporting issues with app service . With Facebook, 16 per cent have reported issues with the website and 10 per cent with the login service while 11 per cent of Instagram users have reported issues with a server connection and 4 per cent with the website itself.It is not yet clear what has caused the spike in both apps not working for users.
Users on X, formerly Twitter, have expressed their grievance over the apps going down once again. One wrote: "Facebook down again." Another added on X: "Chill guys Facebook is down again." One said: "Ugh SERIOUSLY?! AGAIN!!!no wonder my videos dont wanna play!"
