The NHS Providers deputy chief executive, Saffron Cordery, has said trusts received “little or no consultation” ahead of the government’s announcement on imminent changes to face covering regulations.

This government doesn't consult. Shameful!
So the trusts need to 'scramble' for face masks? So another PPE challenge, yes. Not a huge change to the operation of hospitals is it? Sorry, my experience of hospitals in recent weeks is that hospital management is severely lacking, and the contact for families is a joke.
Hepworthclare Even senior management weren’t told - announcing this so quickly has meant that shielding / home working staff aren’t coming back into work next week...
Hepworthclare 😂😂 so it is all a load of rubbish the gov't is trying to push an agenda of control over you all. Welcome to China.. i mean UK.
Seems like they’d be the ones to tell the government it’s an inappropriate use of masks, doesn’t prevent spread and can make wearers sick. And that the virus is already on the decline, so what a waste.
NHS now have to watch daily briefings to find the latest policy - it’s pathetic
So 10 days to plan and ensure that adequate stock is available now and can be sourced in future? I can't help but think that the government, by its ongoing actions, are creating a recipe for anarchy in the country but for what purpose?
Didn't they read the WHO guidance U-turn? Up until now the WHO has been held up as the gold standard, so why are we complaining about something which might help the awful spread in hospitals?
More bungling incompetence by this collection of charlatans and spivs that calls itself a government
Face masks and social distancing has proven its effectiveness.
I have some sympathy with the government on face masks. The WHO has revised its advice this week, in the light of emerging evidence. It is only right that the government seek to act as quickly as possible, although the NHS will literally need tons of help from them.
Saffron Cordery, has said trusts received “little or no consultation” - little is some . . . As I understand it the hospital environment is now a significant place of infection transmission in UK . . . and this may help . . .
When you are planning on making changes to anything you would think that consultation with all relevant bodies would be the first thing to do. Not this Govt.Make an unexpected announcement on a Friday with no scientists present and then walk away. Arrogant and incompetent!
This has been the guidance in care homes for the last few weeks?!?
.what under this government, never.
