An application has been submitted for an extension at West Calder High School that will provide open plan teaching and learning and collaboration spaces over two levels.
The proposals include modifications to the existing boundary wall to accommodate the extension, external landscaping and modifications, an accessible roof and an access link to the existing school at first floor level and access via the second floor. The work is part of a £60million plan that will see the construction of two new schools and extensions at five others in total, funded by housing developers.
Calderwood Primary already needs extended just two years after it opened and extensions are also planned at Winchburgh Primary, St Paul’s Primary in East Calder, Pumpherston and Uphall Community Primary as well as West Calder.
