Police, paramedics and firefighters raced to the scene of the crash

The smash happened on busy Wilbraham Road at around 5.40pm yesterday . Two cars were involved, a spokesperson for the fire service confirmed.

A female was cut free from one of the vehicles by firefighters. She was then 'handed to the care of paramedics' while fire crews 'made the scene safe'.A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said no serious injuries were reported. In a statement, a Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "At just after 5.
