Eight Covid hotspots in Lancashire where the virus remains problematic

Coronavirus figures across the county have fluctuated significantly once again with a sharp decline in rates per 100,000 people.

Last week saw much of the region reporting figures well over the 100 mark with certain seaside towns with over 200 cases. Figures this week show East Lancashire has some of the highest reported case rates. Queensgate in Nelson has the highest rates of 167.3 per 100,000 people. Following closely behind are Queenstown and Layton in Blackpool with figures of 138.7.In the latest seven day period, there are now only eight Lancashire neighbourhoods with rates surpassing the 100 mark. No areas have in the 200 mark this week and many have unreported figures due to having cases fewer than three.
