“Considering loaning the sculpture back” wow

No Mr Hartwig Fischer the museum is not a 'World country' the right word is it is a shining example of British Imperialism. And yes, Most of us from whom you have stolen cannot visit the museums because of our lack of passport privilege. ReturnMoai

AfienavanZanten Museums all around the globe are filled with stolen goods. Where would you start? Where would it end? Complicated stuff 🤷‍♀️

I bet if somebody had sailed off with a bit of Stonehenge we'd want it back!

Imperialism at its finest 🙃🙃 just give the fucking thing back.

The same goes for, at least, the Elgin Marbles.

Feck your Union Jack we want our Moai back!!!!!!

if They give Moai back, what will they do when the Egyptians come knocking? they wont give any single item back coz most of what they have on display is other people's stolen history and culture.

Fuck that keep it

Give it back - there must be tens of thousands of items donated to the museum in their vaults which can be displayed instead

If we let them take Moai back then they'll be asking for their eggs back next.

rufcbilly

Pity they have to 'beg'

Lol nah, they'll just destroy it and kill themselves off AGAIN

Return the concrete ugly thing!

Not a chance. ¿How many british things are in the british museum? Not many... and nobody wants it empty.

England at its finest.

Give it back. Only the British would be so arrogant as to have a museum for the sole purpose of proudly displaying the shit they stole from others.

'Begs'?

We've had it for 150 years ,they would have asked for it back years ago if mattered that much to their 'soul'.It won't be eroded down to dust by the elements where it is. Leave it so that humanity can appreciate it after Easter Island sinks through climate change.

Take it it back to Easter island 🗿 we stole it from them it doesn’t belong to us. Can’t the British establishment do the right thing for once !!!!

It must return

The British Museum isn't the only place around the world that has a Moai, but educating the world about this wonderful culture is the museum's job, and this is a service to the Rapa Nui people. .... britishmuseum you can use that in your press release 😉

It was stolen and should be returned.

Let them take it back with them

The British Museum is free to get in. The British tax payer subsidises entry for tourists so that they can clap eyes on art and treasures from around the globe for nothing.

They have precons for that

They were wiping their asses bare handed till we gave them civilisation, taught them about sanitation and health.... They should be bowing down in gratitude, not winging about statues
