People on one type of benefits are set to get a boost dropping into their bank accounts from April, with up to £617.60 extra cash for those eligible.
It's been a difficult few years for people on benefits and with the Cost of Living payments now over, but council tax, water, mobile and TV costs all still rising, it's never been tougher out there to be on a low income, including people who work full time jobs and still claim benefits.. But there's a welcome boost for anyone on Universal Credit because in 16 days' time people will be handed a boost to their DWP benefits in the new tax year.Various benefits have been given an 'uplift' from April which will see more money dropping into bank accounts for the handouts and the government has announced that an uplift in Universal Credit will average about £470 per family per month, ranging from at least £292.11 per month up to £617.
The government says it is to ensure that the amount people take in their handouts maintains a similar spending power to enable them to live and support themselves during such times of high inflation.
