DWP confirms bank holiday next week will impact some payments due

The Department for Work and Pensions has confirmed that on Monday, May 6 Jobcentre Plus offices and phone lines will be closed due the bank holiday. It has also confirmed people due to receive a scheduled payment on that day will instead see the money land in their bank account tomorrow - Friday, May 3.

HM Revenue and Customs and Social Security Scotland have also confirmed similar changes, with offices, webchat and phone lines also set to close on Monday, reopening again on Tuesday, May 7. This will only affect devolved payments, Child Benefit and Tax Credits due on Monday, payments scheduled for Tuesday will not be affected.

DWP payment date changes in May Payments from DWP due to be made on Monday, May 6 will arrive on Friday, May 3 and money due on Monday, May 27, will be paid on Friday, May 24, 2024.Pay date changes will only affect benefits listed above due on the bank holidays.
