If you know me, you’ll know that I’m absolutely obsessed with porridge. As in, I wrote a whole article about howNow that the mornings are dark and cold, porridge has become my go-to breakfast. And while I was pretty happy with my usual recipe (cinnamon, nutmeg, a tiny bit of salt, oat milk, oats, and a bit of honey), I’ve recently discovered the gently warming ingredient that truly makes my porridge sing.
I chucked a couple of cardamom pods into my porridge a couple of weeks ago, and have become obsessed with the combo ― since then, I’ve turned my porridge into a chai latte-inspired delight.Let’s start with the basics; pour 300ml (ish) of milk per serving into a pan to get the party started. You don’t have to use oat milk ― other dairy alternatives, skimmed, semi-skimmed, or full-fat dairy milk, and even water are all great options.
