Eight-year-old Lennix had been playing tag with his friends when he was hitThe mother of an eight-year-old boy who died after being hit by car while playing tag near the park on his street has paid tribute to her 'bubbly and kind' son who was 'loved by everyone'.
Lennix's mother Jackie Meredith told MailOnline today: 'He was bubbly and kind, loved by everybody. He had so many wonderful friends. He had his birthday 2 weeks ago and had his whole life ahead of him.' 'We're shaken as a community. The children are confused and can't understand why he's not going to be in school on Monday.'
This afternoon, photographs of Lennix, flowers and cards were placed on the fence outside the playpark, while tealights were placed on the floor. One wrote: 'What an sad news... fly high little man.. sending hug and love to his family and friends at this sad occasion.'
