A 'dedicated mum' who became the first person in Britain to survive a risky operation tragically died of unrelated causes years later.
At 1am on November 3, she was given a routine anticoagulant injection by her husband before falling asleep. Sadly, she never woke up, and was pronounced dead by paramedics later that morning. "When the kids were into Build-A-Bears, instead of getting them just one each and a couple of outfits, she got two black bin bags full of clothes for each Build-A-Bear.
"It was just so cruel in the end, that she went through everything for all those years - just for this to happen. I thought 'why didn't they just take her in the beginning?An online fundraiser for Yvonne's funeral, set up by her daughter Georgina, brought in more than £1,000. In a tribute, Georgina said: "Our mum Yvonne was only 44. She's left behind her husband John. Her four children, two step-children, five grandchildren, and her mum.
