We can’t afford to continually offer the payments we made in April. It is unfair to ask for it. We also should not have to pay people whose own actions of not doing what they were told caused the local spikes. They knew the risk and ignored the government advice.

Agree, I live in Sheffield, our mp Dan jarvis, is fighting for the same. My job is up in the air, we have some hours, but not enough to support everyone. If I was to loose my job, we are just managing, if we lost my wage, things would be very hard.
