For more than two days, my life hung in the balance. I battled to breathe through my nose, and both my lungs were overwhelmed by pneumonia. During my time on Ward 13 at the Royal London Hospital - after I was admitted shortly before 2am on Wednesday March 18 - I was seen regularly by doctors, but good news was in short supply.
